Framo Signs Record Pump Service Deal Covering Petrobras FPSO Fleet
Framo has signed its largest-ever pump service contract with Petrobras, covering pumps across the operator's FPSO fleet offshore Brazil. Terms were not disclosed.
Field notes
- Framo signed a record — its largest-ever — pump service contract with Petrobras
- The agreement covers pumps across Petrobras's FPSO fleet offshore Brazil
- Contract value and duration were not disclosed at announcement
- Framo is part of the Alfa Laval group and supplies offshore pumping systems

Framo has signed its largest-ever pump service contract with Petrobras, covering the oil major's FPSO fleet offshore Brazil — the anchor of the country's deepwater production growth in the Santos and Campos basins.
The deal, reported by Brazil Energy Insight, sets a record for Framo in scope: the Norwegian pump specialist will maintain and service seawater-lift, cargo and injection pumps across Petrobras's floating production, storage and offloading vessels. Neither party disclosed the contract value at announcement.
Why does a service contract matter at this scale?
Petrobras operates one of the world's biggest FPSO fleets, and pump availability on those vessels directly governs produced-water handling, water injection for reservoir pressure maintenance and offloading performance. Unscheduled pump downtime on an FPSO can shut in production from an entire unit.
For Framo, the contract locks in a recurring service revenue stream tied to installed base rather than newbuild orders — a shift the company has pursued as operators extend the lives of existing floaters rather than sanction new units.
What does the deal cover?
- Service and maintenance of pumps across the Petrobras FPSO fleet
- A record scope for Framo measured against its previous service agreements with the Brazilian operator
- Offshore Brazil, where the majority of Petrobras output is processed on floating units
Brazil Energy Insight reported the signing but did not publish financial terms, a contract duration or a list of named vessels covered.
Who is Framo?
Framo, part of the Alfa Laval group, supplies pumping systems for marine and offshore applications, including seawater-lift and cargo pumps. Offshore Brazil it has a long-standing position supplying and servicing equipment on FPSOs operating in ultra-deepwater.
The watch item
Contract terms — duration, fleet units covered and any local-content commitments under Brazilian rules — remain undisclosed. Watch for Petrobras and Framo to publish details as the agreement enters execution, and for signs of further long-term service deals as operators across the Santos and Campos basins push FPSO life extensions.
