Venture Global has awarded Worley a contract to support expansion of its LNG export terminal in Louisiana, Reuters reported, extending the engineering and construction firm's role in one of the most aggressively scaled US Gulf Coast liquefaction build-outs.

The award covers expansion work at the Arlington, Virginia-based developer's Louisiana export facility. Venture Global operates the Calcasieu Pass terminal in Cameron Parish and is developing additional liquefaction capacity in Plaquemines Parish, giving the company one of the largest LNG construction portfolios on the Gulf Coast.

Worley, the Sydney-listed engineering group, already has deep exposure to US LNG. The company has worked across multiple Gulf Coast liquefaction projects and has positioned itself as a key EPC and services contractor as developers race to add export capacity ahead of an expected wave of new supply entering the global market later this decade.

For Venture Global, the Louisiana expansion is central to its strategy of scaling from a single-terminal operator into a multi-site exporter. The company has moved unusually fast from first LNG to commissioning cargoes at its initial facility, and it is pursuing a model that pairs rapid construction with commissioning-period cargo sales — an approach that drew arbitration claims from long-term contract holders and remains a point of scrutiny for buyers weighing offtake from its newer projects.

The contract with Worley signals that the next phase of Louisiana expansion work is moving from planning into execution, with engineering and construction activity set to ramp at the site. Reuters did not report the contract value.

The award lands as US LNG developers push to lock in contractors amid a competitive labor market on the Gulf Coast, where multiple liquefaction projects are competing for the same craft workforce and fabrication capacity. EPC availability has become a gating factor for project timing industry-wide, and early contractor engagement is increasingly seen as a schedule hedge.

Venture Global has not disclosed a detailed timeline for the expansion phase covered by the Worley award.
