NG Energy Ties Aruchara-6 into Maria Conchita CPF at Up to 8.7 MMcf/d
NG Energy's Aruchara-6 flowed up to 8.7 MMcf/d gross and is now producing through the Maria Conchita CPF, lifting field output toward 23 MMcf/d gross.
Field notes
- Aruchara-6 tested at up to 8.7 MMcf/d gross (6.96 MMcf/d net) after drilling to 9,352 ft.
- Maria Conchita output is projected to rise from 16 to 23 MMcf/d gross.
- Maurel & Prom spudded the Encantado-1X delineation well at Sinú-9 on 6 October 2026.
- GTX International's CPF upgrade to support 30 MMcf/d capacity is due by late October 2026.
- INFRAES pipeline loop raised Sinú-9 gross transport capacity to 40–45 MMcf/d.

NG Energy International has brought the Aruchara-6 well on production at its Maria Conchita Block on Colombia's Caribbean coast, flowing up to 8.7 MMcf/d gross during testing — a rate the company expects to lift field output to 23 MMcf/d gross.
The Canada-based gas producer drilled Aruchara-6 to 9,352 ft, where wireline logs and surface tests showed gas across the H1 through H6 formations. Crews then tied the well into the Maria Conchita central processing facility (CPF), which sat at 16 MMcf/d gross before commissioning.
What did the flow test show?
On a 30/64 choke, Aruchara-6 yielded gross rates of up to 8.7 MMcf/d — 6.96 MMcf/d net to NGE — at an average tubing head pressure of 780 psi. The company holds an 80% working interest in Maria Conchita.
With the new well connected, NGE projects overall Maria Conchita output at 23 MMcf/d gross, or 18.4 MMcf/d net. Add in Sinú-9 volumes, and the company expects total corporate net production of roughly 29.1 MMcf/d.
NGE CEO Jorge Fonseca said: "Aruchara-6 has delivered positive gas results and is now tied into our main processing facility and producing, having flowed at up to 8.7 MMcf/d during well testing."
How will the gas get to market?
Existing agreements cover 15 MMcf/d of gross contracted offtake from Maria Conchita. Additional volumes are heading to the Colombian domestic spot market, where realised sales have averaged about $14–16 per thousand cubic feet, with some transactions above $20 — pricing the company reports, not a forward view.
The CPF is approaching its 30 MMcf/d nameplate. To support higher throughput, infrastructure partner GTX International is adding compression and upgrading cooling, dehydration and heat exchange units by late October 2026. Fonseca said the upgrades "will ensure the CPF runs reliably at these higher throughput levels."
What's happening at Sinú-9?
Delineation is running in parallel. Consortium partner Maurel & Prom Colombia spudded the Encantado-1X well on 6 October 2026 at the Sinú-9 licence, where at least one more well is scheduled this year. The well is designed to map the reservoir's southern boundary, test for liquids and assess deeper Pre-CDO gas potential under higher reservoir pressures.
Maurel & Prom took a 61% working interest and operatorship in Sinú-9 in January 2026 for $229m (€196.14m); NGE retains a 39% non-operating interest.
Transport capacity has grown ahead of the drilling. A pipeline loop built by INFRAES raised gross takeaway at Sinú-9 from 30 MMcf/d to 40–45 MMcf/d, giving NGE a net transportation entitlement of 15.6–17.6 MMcf/d.
The watch items: GTX's CPF upgrade deadline of late October 2026, results from Encantado-1X, and whether Maria Conchita holds reliably at 23 MMcf/d gross once the facility runs flat out.
