Pipetech Opens 950 m2 Sandnes Base After £500,000-Plus Norway Investment

Pipetech opens a 950 m2 Sandnes base after £500,000-plus of investment, adds a NORSOK Z-015 pump and a dedicated Norwegian sales manager for NCS work.

Field notes

  1. Pipetech opened a 950 m2 facility in Sandnes with six offices, a workshop and yard space.
  2. The company invested more than £500,000 in facility, fleet and equipment upgrades.
  3. A NORSOK Z-015-compliant pump delivering 182 l./min. at up to 1020 bar awaits delivery.
  4. Henning Petersen was appointed Norwegian Sales Manager after 10+ years in the region's supply chain.
  5. Operations Director Leonard Hamill said the company is 'in a great position for 2027.'

Denholm Pipetech has opened a 950 m2 facility in Sandnes, Norway, backed by more than £500,000 in new investment, as the flow remediation specialist deepens its position on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and in the North Sea.

The company, a subsidiary of Denholm Environmental, founded in Stavanger 26 years ago, said the move forms part of a long-term plan to strengthen its in-country footprint. The six-figure (£) commitment follows an earlier investment by parent company Denholm Environmental last year.

What does the new facility deliver?

The Sandnes site comprises:

  • Six offices
  • A workshop
  • Yard space for receiving client assets on-site

From the base, Pipetech will deliver pipe and process cleaning solutions, including its Aqua Milling® technology and high-pressure water jetting, targeting foulants such as wax and hard scale.

The investment covers upgrades to the facility and van fleet plus new equipment for local energy sector clients. Key among the new kit is a NORSOK Z-015-compliant pump, awaiting delivery for Norway's offshore market. The high-flow unit delivers 182 l./min. at pressures up to 1020 bar to power Aqua Milling® and DSR tooling.

Who leads the push?

Pipetech has appointed Henning Petersen as its in-country Norwegian Sales Manager, based at Sandnes. A Norway native, Petersen brings more than 10 years in the region's oil and gas supply chain, including roles promoting asset integrity solutions to a similar client base.

Petersen said: "When you work in the oil and gas sector in Norway, you don't have to venture too far to find someone familiar with Pipetech. That reputation and awareness make me incredibly proud to be joining the team here at a pivotal moment."

He added: "Through our established solutions like Aqua Milling® and the ongoing development of our Downhole Scale Remediation tool, plus our proven track record of in-country projects and support, I have all the resources needed to help push us forward."

What is the strategic backdrop?

Operations Director Leonard Hamill framed the expansion as a continuation of the company's Norwegian history and a vehicle for the parent company's entry into the market.

"We've got a rich history in Norway, and this is just the latest chapter. It's particularly exciting to be bringing our parent company Denholm Environmental into the fold in-country too," Hamill said. "Following Denholm's investment into us last year, those plans are now being fully realised."

On the new hire, Hamill said Petersen's drive and network complement the existing team. "Between Henning, the new facility, and the investment we've made in new kit, we're in a great position for 2027," he said.

The watch item: delivery of the NORSOK Z-015-compliant pump and first client assets received at Sandnes will mark the operational start-up of the expanded Norwegian base.
